Celebrando las Artes en Kinder Olivos
Olivos Kindergarten fills up with art! In preparation for the Art Fair and as part of the unit of inquiry on how we express ourselves, we welcomed some family artists to Kindergarten who helped us explore, experience and learn more about the different types of art. After this visit, and following this year’s theme “Nothing is lost, everything is transformed,” the different classes chose what to work on and went on to investigate, explore and create a variety of different art pieces.
Wednesday 4th was the grand opening! Children and families were able to explore the different spaces that were taken over by the exhibition.
On Thursday 5th the children were treated to “Doctor Coppelius,” an adaptation of the ballet “Coppelia,” which tells the story of Doctor Coppelius and his giant wind-up dolls. It also features the characters of Franz and Swanilda, who decide to play a joke on Coppelius and make him believe that one of his dolls comes to life thanks to their magic potions.
After the show, the children were able to ask the dancers questions and learn more about this form of artistic expression.
On Friday 6th, after raising the flag, K5 families were able to enjoy some songs sung by the Primary choir. Afterwards,the K5 students were able to experience what it’s like to be a part of a choir by singing together. They were led by three of the Primary students. What an incredible week!
¡El Kinder se llena de arte! Como preparación para la Feria de Arte y en el marco de la unidad de indagación de cómo nos expresamos, recibimos en el Kinder a familiares artistas que nos posibilitaron explorar, vivenciar y conocer más sobre las diferentes ramas del arte. Luego de esta visita, y siguiendo el tema de este año “ Nada se pierde, todo se transforma,” las distintas clases eligieron sobre qué trabajar y fueron investigando, explorando y creando una variedad de piezas de arte.
El miércoles 4 fue la gran inauguración! Los niños y las familias pudieron explorar los distintos espacios que fueron tomados por la muestra.
El jueves 5 los niños pudieron disfrutar de “El Doctor Coppelius,” una adaptación del ballet “Coppelia”, que cuenta la historia del Doctor Coppelius y sus muñecas gigantes que andan a cuerda. También cuenta con los personajes de Franz y Swanilda, quienes deciden jugarle una broma a Coppelius y le hacen creer que una de sus muñecas cobra vida gracias a sus pócimas mágicas.
Luego del show los niños pudieron hacerles preguntas a los bailarines y aprender más sobre esta forma de expresión artística.
El viernes 6, como cierre de la semana de las artes, las familias de K5 pudieron disfrutar algunas canciones cantadas por el coro de Primaria después del saludo a la bandera. Luego, los alumnos de K5 acompañaron al coro y cantaron una canción guiados por tres alumnas. Que gran experiencia para los niños ver como se canta en un coro.
