Y4 Said “Sí, Prometo”
Last week, our Y4 students experienced one of the most significant milestones of their Primary School journey: the Promise of Loyalty to the Flag.
The ceremony featured the distinguished participation of the *“Tambor de Tacuarí”* Military Band of the Patricios Regiment, led by Major Alan Núñez, whose music provided a very special setting for this meaningful celebration. We also had the honour of hearing a few words from Santiago Tito, a parent from our community and Second Lieutenant of the Patricios Regiment, whom we would like to thank for his collaboration in making the band’s visit to our school possible.
This ceremony marked the culmination of the Unit of Inquiry *“Sí Prometo – Our Promise, Our Identity”*, in which students explored how the identity of individuals and communities is shaped by their histories, celebrations and traditions.
Throughout the unit, students deepened their understanding of Manuel Belgrano, the creation of the Argentine flag and the symbols that form part of our national identity. They participated in a wide range of transdisciplinary learning experiences, including creating flags with their families, sewing cockades alongside members of our community, taking part in the Belgrano Educational Tour, creating lapbooks to document their inquiries, and designing and printing 3D cockades in Design & Technology.

La semana pasada, los alumnos de Y4 vivieron uno de los momentos más significativos de su paso por la escuela primaria: la Promesa de Lealtad a la Bandera.
La ceremonia contó con la destacada participación de la Banda Militar del Regimiento de Patricios “Tambor de Tacuarí”, dirigida por el Mayor Alan Núñez, que nos acompañó con su música y dio un marco muy especial a esta celebración. También tuvimos el honor de escuchar las palabras de Santiago Tito, padre de nuestra comunidad y Subteniente del Regimiento de Patricios, a quien agradecemos especialmente por su colaboración para hacer posible la visita de la banda a nuestro colegio.
Este acto representó la culminación de la unidad de indagación “Sí Prometo – Our Promise, Our Identity”, en la que los estudiantes exploraron cómo la identidad de las personas y las comunidades se construye a partir de sus historias, celebraciones y tradiciones.
A lo largo de la unidad, profundizaron sus conocimientos sobre Manuel Belgrano, la creación de la bandera y los símbolos que forman parte de nuestra identidad nacional. Participaron de múltiples experiencias de aprendizaje transdisciplinarias: la confección de banderas en familia, el tejido de escarapelas junto a miembros de nuestra comunidad, la salida educativa al Paseo Belgraniano, la creación de lapbooks para documentar sus investigaciones y el diseño e impresión de escarapelas 3D en Design & Technology.
