Y1 & Y6 Olivos – Big Brothers and Sisters
As part of the school’s Personal and Social Education (PSE) programme, we implement a Big Brother and Big Sister mentorship programme each year, pairing Year 6 students with Year 1 students to strengthen the bonds between them. Through this initiative, the younger students find a mentor and guide within the primary school, while the Year 6 students have the opportunity to develop leadership, empathy, and responsibility skills.
This week, each Year 1 student met their BIG BROTHER or BIG SISTER. The Year 6 students prepared thoughtful and creative presentations with photos and drawings to introduce themselves. In return, the Year 1 students showed them classroom games and shared a wonderful morning together. This marks the beginning of a relationship that, without a doubt, will grow stronger throughout the year.
Dentro del marco del Programa de PSE que sostiene el colegio, todos los años implementamos un programa de padrinazgo de los alumnos de Y6 a los alumnos de Y1 con el fin de fortalecer los vínculos entre ellos. A través de esta iniciativa, los alumnos más pequeños encuentran una figura de referencia y guía dentro de la primaria, mientras que los de Year 6 tienen la oportunidad de desarrollar habilidades de liderazgo, empatía y responsabilidad.
Esta semana, cada alumno de Y1 conoció su BIG BROTHER o BIG SISTER. Los alumnos de sexto año prepararon con mucho cariño presentaciones creativas con fotos y dibujos para contarles más sobre ellos. Además los chicos de Y1 les mostraron juegos del aula y compartieron juntos una hermosa mañana. Juntos, iniciaron una relación que, sin dudas, se fortalecerá a lo largo del año.
