World Water Day

OLIVOS PRIMARY

Water is essential for life on Earth. “The importance of water” is the name that the UN has chosen to focus on this year. We should be aware that there are still 2.200 million people that do not have access to safe, clean water.
On Wednesday, March 22nd there were special activities prepared for this occasion, both in the Library and our Primary Lab. Our Green Patrol students were specially involved in this.

El agua es esencial para la vida. “La importancia del agua” es el lema en el que las Naciones Unidas eligió enfocarse este año. Debemos ser conscientes de que aún hay en el mundo 2.200 millones de personas sin acceso a agua segura y limpia.
El pasado miércoles 22 de marzo realizamos actividades especiales para reflexionar sobre esta fecha, tanto desde Biblioteca como desde nuestro Laboratorio. Nuestros alumnos de Green Patrol se involucraron especialmente en esta fecha.

NORDELTA PRIMARY

On March 22nd, World Water Day is celebrated with the objective of raising awareness about the importance of this precious resource in our lives.
This year’s motto was, “Be the change you want to see in the world”, which encourages people to take action in their daily lives and make a significant change in the way they use water daily. We strongly believe that “every drop counts”.
To celebrate this important date worldwide, we gathered in an Assembly and members of the Green Patrol invited teachers and students to find ways in which they can contribute to saving water, both at home and at school. Moreover, in line with World Poetry Day, Year 3 students wrote acrostics and shared them with the community. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

El 22 de marzo de cada año se celebra el Día Mundial del Agua con el objetivo de concientizar sobre la importancia de este recurso preciado en nuestras vidas. Este año el lema elegido fue “sean el cambio que quieren ver en el mundo”, donde se alienta a las personas a generar acciones en su vida cotidiana que cambien la forma en que usan el agua. Creemos firmemente que cada gota cuenta.
Para celebrar esta fecha tan importante a nivel mundial, nos reunimos en un “Assembly” en el que miembros del “Green Patrol” invitaron a los alumnos y docentes a tomar acción y a encontrar maneras dentro de la escuela y en nuestras casas para cuidar el consumo de agua. Además, en línea con el Día Mundial de la Poesía, alumnos de Y3 escribieron acrósticos relacionados a esta fecha y los compartieron con la comunidad. ¡Esperamos que los disfruten tanto como nosotros!

OLIVOS SECONDARY

On March 22, the United Nations promotes the “World Water Day.” The Prefects group, together with the Evergreens (Our team of Secondary students that actively support sustainability), set up an intervention to make this event visible, aiming to ask for a small contribution from each one for a great cause that runs through all of us: “Water affects us all”.

El 22 de marzo, naciones unidas, promueve “El día mundial del agua”. El grupo de Prefects junto con los Evergreens (alumnos de Secundaria que se reúnen para traccionar iniciativas sustentables) , montaron una intervención para visibilizar este evento cuyo propósito es pedir el pequeño aporte de cada uno, para una gran causa que nos atraviesa:  “El Agua nos afecta a todos”.
