“¡Sí. Prometo!”: Rossettes, Identity and Community in Y4

As part of the unit of inquiry “Sí, Prometo! Our Promise, Our Identity!”, in which Y4 students are exploring how the identity of individuals and communities is shaped by their history, celebrations and traditions; they enjoyed a very special experience alongside some Y4 mums and members of our community, who came to school to sew rossettes together with the children.
This activity encouraged students to reflect on the importance of national symbols and celebrations as part of our collective memory and cultural identity.
It was a wonderful afternoon of shared learning, creativity and teamwork, allowing students to connect with our traditions in a meaningful and authentic way.
This unit will culminate in our 20th June celebration, during which Y4 students will make their Promise to the Flag on 18/06 in the Brightman Hall. We warmly invite families to join us for this very special occasion, which will also include a very special guest.

En el marco de la unidad de indagación “Sí, Prometo! Our Promise, Our Identity!”, en la que los alumnos de Y4 están explorando cómo la identidad de las personas y las comunidades se construye a partir de su historia, celebraciones y tradiciones; vivieron una experiencia muy especial junto a algunas mamás de la camada y miembros de nuestra comunidad, quienes se acercaron al colegio para coser escarapelas con los chicos.
La propuesta les permitió reflexionar sobre el valor de los símbolos patrios y las celebraciones como parte de nuestra memoria colectiva e identidad cultural.
Fue una hermosa tarde de aprendizaje compartido, creatividad y trabajo en conjunto, en la que los estudiantes pudieron conectarse con nuestras tradiciones de una manera significativa y cercana.
Esta unidad culminará con el acto del 20 de junio, en el que los estudiantes de Y4 realizarán su Promesa a la Bandera el próximo 18/06 en el Brightman Hall. Invitamos a las familias a acompañarnos en esta celebración tan significativa, que además contará con una visita muy especial.
