Progress in the Robotics Workshop with Kinder 5

During the last few classes, Kinder 5 students continued exploring programming concepts through playful and challenging activities.

First, they reviewed the commands the robot can perform, which they have been working on since K4: move forward, turn right, turn left, and make sounds. Through a memory game using cards, they identified each command and revisited a key idea learned previously: robots need precise instructions in order to act.

Then, they worked in small teams with the robot, taking on the challenge of building the grid where the mouse would move and programming it to reach the cheese on a block board. To achieve this, they observed a model, planned possible routes, designed sequences of instructions, programmed the robot, and made adjustments when necessary.

Through these activities, children continue strengthening skills related to logical thinking, planning, and collaborative work. By experimenting, making mistakes, and trying again, they are also putting IB Learner Profile attributes into practice by being inquirers, exploring different possibilities; thinkers, seeking solutions; and communicators, sharing ideas with their classmates.

Durante las últimas clases, los alumnos de Kinder 5 continuaron explorando conceptos de programación a través de propuestas lúdicas y desafiantes.

Primero, repasaron los comandos que vinieron trabajando desde K4 para codificar al Ratón Robot: avanzar, girar a la derecha, girar a la izquierda y emitir sonidos. A través de un memory game con tarjetas, identificaron cada comando y recordaron lo aprendido anteriormente: que los robots necesitan instrucciones precisas para poder actuar.

Luego, trabajaron con el robot en pequeños equipos, enfrentando el desafío de armar la cuadrícula donde se movería el Ratón y de programarlo para que llegara hasta el queso en el tablero de bloques. Para lograrlo, observaron un modelo, planificaron recorridos posibles, diseñaron secuencias de instrucciones, programaron al robot y realizaron ajustes cuando fue necesario.

A través de estas propuestas, los chicos siguen fortaleciendo habilidades vinculadas al pensamiento lógico, la planificación y el trabajo colaborativo. Al experimentar, equivocarse y volver a intentar, ponen también en práctica atributos del perfil IB como ser indagadores explorando distintas posibilidades; pensadores buscando soluciones y comunicadores compartiendo ideas con sus compañeros.
