Commendation Assembly: Celebrating our IB Learner Profile Attributes
In Olivos & Nordelta Primary, our recent Commendation Assembly was a special opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the progress, effort and values that shape our students into remarkable individuals. Throughout the ceremony, we recognised students from Year 1 to Year 6 who have shown clear evidence of the IB Learner Profile attributes, demonstrating qualities such as curiosity, reflection, empathy, open-mindedness, creativity, resilience and responsibility. These attributes are at the heart of the PYP approach, as they help our students become active participants in their own learning journey, giving them voice, choice and ownership of their experiences. The commendations celebrate not only academic achievements, but also the attitudes, behaviours and values that contribute to developing principled citizens of the world.
While some students received a special recognition during this assembly, we know that every day our children have opportunities to demonstrate different attributes of the IB Learner Profile in their classrooms and throughout school life. Each student is the protagonist of their own learning journey, constantly growing, making choices, taking action and showing different strengths at different moments. The celebration continued with a beautiful performance by our Junior Choir, who shared the results of their hard work, commitment and dedication through their music. Their performance was a wonderful reminder of how passion, collaboration and perseverance allow our students to express themselves and shine.
En las primarias de Olivos y Nordelta, nuestro reciente Commendation Assembly fue una oportunidad especial para reunirnos como comunidad y celebrar el progreso, el esfuerzo y los valores que ayudan a nuestros estudiantes a convertirse en personas excepcionales. Durante el acto, reconocimos a alumnos de Year 1 a Year 6 que demostraron con sus acciones cotidianas los atributos del Perfil del Alumno del IB, poniendo en evidencia cualidades como la curiosidad, la reflexión, la empatía, la mentalidad abierta, la creatividad, la resiliencia y la responsabilidad. Estos atributos son fundamentales dentro del enfoque del PYP, ya que acompañan a nuestros estudiantes a convertirse en protagonistas activos de su propio aprendizaje, dándoles voz, elección y responsabilidad sobre sus experiencias. Las commendations celebran no solo los logros académicos, sino también las actitudes, comportamientos y valores que contribuyen a formar ciudadanos íntegros y comprometidos con el mundo.
Si bien algunos estudiantes recibieron un reconocimiento especial durante este acto, sabemos que todos nuestros alumnos tienen diariamente la oportunidad de demostrar los distintos atributos del Perfil del IB en las aulas y en cada experiencia escolar. Cada niño y niña es protagonista de su propio camino de aprendizaje, creciendo constantemente, tomando decisiones, actuando y descubriendo sus propias fortalezas en diferentes momentos. La celebración culminó con una hermosa presentación de nuestro Junior Choir, quienes compartieron con la comunidad el resultado de su trabajo, compromiso y dedicación a través de la música. Su presentación fue un hermoso reflejo de cómo la pasión, la colaboración y la perseverancia permiten que nuestros estudiantes puedan expresarse y brillar.
