Circulating Library in K5: Books That Travel and Build Connections!
In K5, we’ve launched a very special project: our Circulating Library! Each week, the children choose a book to take home, enjoy with their families, and return to school the following week. The collection includes a carefully selected variety of stories, poems, legends, informational texts, and picture books in both English and Spanish.
Beyond fostering a love for reading, this experience encourages autonomy, responsibility, and commitment. Choosing what to read, taking care of the book, and sharing it at home offer meaningful opportunities for children to make independent decisions and strengthen the connection between school and family.
Every week backpacks are filled with stories that travel, inspire, and teach. A reading adventure that grows with every page!
En K5 dimos inicio a un proyecto muy especial: ¡la Biblioteca Circulante! Cada semana, los chicos y chicas eligen un libro para llevar a casa, disfrutar en familia y devolver al jardín en su próximo turno. La propuesta incluye una selección cuidada de cuentos, poesías, leyendas, textos informativos y libros álbum, tanto en inglés como en castellano.
Además de despertar el amor por la lectura, esta experiencia promueve la autonomía, la responsabilidad y el compromiso. Elegir qué leer, cuidar el libro y compartirlo en casa son oportunidades valiosas para que los niños ejerzan decisiones significativas y fortalezcan la conexión entre el jardín y la familia.
Cada martes o viernes —según el grupo— las mochilas se llenan de historias que viajan, emocionan y enseñan. ¡Una aventura lectora que sigue creciendo página a página!
