2024 Anglo Week

Imagine meeting John Lennon, Shakespeare, or Mary Poppins! We had them all here at Northlands for our British parade on Anglo Week! Our Primary students and staff came dressed as different British icons for the last day of Anglo Week. Before break time, we gathered in our playground for a colourful parade, full of magic. It was a wonderful time!

Imaginen encontrarse con John Lennon, Shakespeare o Mary Poppins. Los tuvimos a todos aquí en Northlands en nuestro desfile de Anglo Week! Nuestros alumnos y el personal de primaria vinieron vestidos como diferentes íconos británicos para el último día de Anglo Week. Antes del recreo, nos reunimos en nuestro patio para un desfile lleno de color y magia. ¡Fue un momento maravilloso!

Our final day of Anglo Week was truly special! EP2 students, along with members of our staff, were delighted with the opportunity to watch and learn Scottish Dancing. Last Friday, we welcomed two old Northlanders, Camila Borinsky and Abril Bacigalup, along with Oscar Llobens, who performed on the bagpipes in a spectacular Scottish Dancing Show. Our guests explained some important Scottish dance steps, and the show became a true masterclass. In no time, our students and staff were dancing and enjoying themselves together. It was a truly Scottish special day!

¡El último día del Anglo Week fue realmente especial! Los estudiantes de EP2, junto con miembros de nuestro staff, estuvieron encantados con la oportunidad de ver y aprender Danzas Escocesas. El pasado viernes, dimos la bienvenida a dos exalumnas, Camila Borinsky y Abril Bacigalup, junto con Oscar Llobens, quien tocó la gaita en un espectacular Show de Danzas Escocesas. Nuestros invitados nos explicaron algunos pasos de baile importantes, y el espectáculo se convirtió en una verdadera clase maestra. En poco tiempo, nuestros estudiantes y staff estaban bailando y divirtiéndose juntos. ¡Fue un día realmente especial escocés!

A few days ago our little kindergarteners were celebrating our Anglo-Saxon roots! They explored the origin of the school through various visits. Y5’s big brothers and big sisters came to teach them the school Hymn, Y7 explained to them the meaning of our badge and together with Nordelta children, they enjoyed a tea party and a Scottish dance show led by former students, Abril Bacigalupo and Camila Borisonik. They even dared to dance!

Hace unos días nuestros alumnos de jardín  estuvieron celebrando nuestras raíces anglosajonas ! Indagaron sobre el origen del colegio a través de distintas visitas . Y5 ‘s big brothers and big sisters  volvieron a las salas a enseñarños el himno del colegio , Y7 les explicó el significado de nuestro escudo y junto a los chicos de Nordelta disfrutaron de  un tea party y un show de baile escocés a cargo de las ex alumnas , Abril Bacigalupo y Camila Borisonik . ¡ Hasta se animaron a bailar !

Y8Phy&chem: students investigate about British scientists. For all of them, they need to indicate, their date of birth, location of birth, academic formation and contribution to the scientific advance and/or the society.

Y9 Physics: students are investigating Newton with an Edpuzzle since they are currently learning about Newton´s laws.  

Y9 EM: Investigating Environmental managers from the UK

Y10 Chemistry: The class is discussing Lowry`s findings regarding acid-base theory.

Y10 EM: Crops from the UK, examples and characteristics.

Y11 ESS: researching different open systems in the UK.

Y12 ESS: students will delve into British environmental poetry. They’ll explore various authors, selecting one poem each to share on a Padlet along with a brief commentary on the author and the poem’s theme.
