🌍 The PYP Exhibition Journey Begins! Y6 Olivos 🌍

This week, our Year 6 Olivos students began their journey through the PYP Exhibition — a milestone that marks the culmination of the IB Primary Years Programme and a true celebration of learning, action, and agency.
We gathered in the Secondary Library, where Maru Martínez, Deputy Head of Primary and PYP Coordinator, introduced the purpose and structure of this meaningful project.
The Exhibition offers students the opportunity to deeply explore a topic that is both personally engaging and locally and/or globally relevant, and to propose concrete actions based on what they have learned.
Under the transdisciplinary theme “Sharing the planet”, this year’s inquiries will be guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encouraging students to investigate global challenges with a critical, empathetic, and committed perspective.
Over the coming months, students will choose topics that inspire them, formulate meaningful lines of inquiry, carry out research using a variety of sources, collaborate in teams, and design actions that generate a positive impact in their communities.
Throughout this process, they will put into practice a wide range of skills, including self-management, research, thinking, communication, and collaboration — as well as the attributes of the IB learner profile.

🌍 ¡Comenzamos con el proceso del PYP Exhibition! Y6 Olivos 🌍
Esta semana, junto a los estudiantes de Year 6 Olivos, dimos inicio al camino del PYP Exhibition, instancia que marca el cierre del Programa de la Escuela Primaria del IB y una celebración del aprendizaje, la acción y la agencia.
Toda la camada se reunió en la Biblioteca de Secundaria, donde Maru Martínez, vicedirectora de Primaria y coordinadora PYP, presentó el propósito y la estructura de este proyecto.
La Exhibition ofrece a los estudiantes la oportunidad de investigar en profundidad una temática que los convoque y que tenga relevancia local y/o global, para luego proponer acciones concretas a partir de lo aprendido.
En el marco del tema transdisciplinario “¿Cómo compartimos el planeta?”, este año la indagación estará guiada por los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la ONU, invitando a los estudiantes a explorar los desafíos del mundo actual con una mirada crítica, empática y comprometida.
Durante los próximos meses, los alumnos elegirán temas que los movilicen, formularán preguntas de indagación significativas, investigarán en diversas fuentes, colaborarán en equipos y diseñarán acciones con impacto positivo en su entorno.
Este proceso les permitirá poner en juego habilidades de autogestión, investigación, pensamiento, comunicación y colaboración, así como los atributos del perfil IB.
