History Y7: An Interactive Journey into Ancient Egypt

History Y7: An Interactive Journey into Ancient Egypt

As part of the Ancient Egypt unit in History, Year 7 students carried out an enriching group project that combined research, creativity, and public speaking.

Working from a specific topic assigned by their teacher, students had the opportunity to build detailed scale models and conduct in-depth research to complement and expand upon the concepts studied in class. Each team then presented their findings to their peers, sharing the results of their dedication and learning.

Key Topics Explored:

  • Society and Hierarchy: Pyramid models illustrating the social structure, ranging from pharaohs, viziers, and priests down to scribes, artisans, farmers, and slaves.
  • Geography and Daily Life: Recreations of the Nile River, settlements along the riverbanks, local vegetation, and agricultural systems.
  • Beliefs and Funerary Rituals: Displays of pyramids, sarcophagi, tombs, and symbolism representing the afterlife.

This hands-on initiative strengthened teamwork, independent research skills, and oral communication, bringing ancient history to life in the classroom.

Congratulations to all our Year 7 students for their outstanding creativity, commitment, and fantastic presentations! Keep exploring, stay curious, and never stop learning!
