On to the Next Mathematical Challenge! OMA Ñandú Zonal Round in Olivos and Nordelta
On 25 June, students from Years 5, 6 and 7 from both our Olivos and Nordelta campuses took part in the Zonal Round of the Argentine Mathematical Olympiad (OMA) Ñandú, after successfully qualifying through the Interschool Round.
A total of 76 students proudly represented Northlands at this stage of the competition. Students from Olivos sat the exam at Colegio Marín in San Isidro, while students from Nordelta attended Colegio Santa María in Tigre. Representing Olivos were 52 students: 24 from Year 5, 17 from Year 6 and 11 from Year 7. Nordelta was represented by 24 students: 15 from Year 5, 8 from Year 6 and 1 from Year 7.
Throughout the day, students tackled challenging mathematical problems that put their logical thinking, creativity, perseverance and problem-solving skills to the test. Beyond the competition itself, these experiences provide valuable opportunities to meet students from other schools, embrace intellectual challenges and continue developing a genuine passion for mathematics.
We are currently awaiting the results of this round. Students who qualify will progress to the Regional Round, which will take place on 27 August. In addition, those who achieve the strongest overall performance across both the Interschool and Zonal Rounds will be invited to compete in the Provincial Round in Mar del Plata.

El pasado 25 de junio, estudiantes de Y5, Y6 y Y7 de Olivos y Nordelta participaron del Certamen Zonal de la Olimpíada Matemática Argentina (OMA) Ñandú, luego de haber superado con éxito la instancia Interescolar.
En total, 76 estudiantes representaron a Northlands en esta nueva etapa del Certamen. Los alumnos de Olivos rindieron en el Colegio Marín, en San Isidro, y los estudiantes de Nordelta participaron en el Colegio Santa María de Tigre. En Olivos participaron 52 alumnos: 24 de Y5, 17 de Y6 y 11 de Y7; y en Nordelta participaron 24: 15 de Y5, 8 de Y6 y 1 de Y7.
Durante la jornada, los alumnos se enfrentaron a desafiantes problemas matemáticos que pusieron en juego su razonamiento lógico, creatividad, perseverancia y capacidad para desarrollar estrategias de resolución. Más allá de los resultados, estas experiencias les permiten compartir con estudiantes de otras instituciones, disfrutar del desafío intelectual y seguir profundizando su interés por la matemática.
Actualmente nos encontramos a la espera de los resultados de esta instancia. Los estudiantes que clasifiquen avanzarán al Certamen Regional, que se llevará a cabo el 27 de agosto. Además, aquellos que obtengan los mejores resultados considerando tanto la instancia Interescolar como la Zonal serán invitados a participar del Certamen Provincial en Mar del Plata.
