Exhibition Is Rolling! Exploring the SDGs with a Special Guest
Our Y6 students have officially begun one of the most important processes of their Primary School years: the PYP Exhibition.
The process started with an introductory session led by Maru Martínez, Primary Vice Principal and PYP Coordinator, who shared with students what the Exhibition is all about and guided them through the journey they will undertake over the coming months as they prepare for their final project.
This week, we also had the honour of welcoming Delfina García Hamilton, mother of one of our Y6 students and Coordinator of the Women, Peace and Security Programme at the United Nations. Delfina shared valuable insights into the history and creation of the United Nations, as well as the purpose and importance of the Sustainable Development Goals.
As the Sustainable Development Goals will serve as the starting point for this year’s Exhibition inquiries, her visit provided students with meaningful context and inspiration as they begin exploring issues that matter both locally and globally.
We are excited to see where their curiosity, research and action will lead them throughout this journey.
Los alumnos de Y6 dieron sus primeros pasos en uno de los momentos más importantes de su recorrido por la Primaria: la PYP Exhibition.
El proceso comenzó con una charla introductoria a cargo de Maru Martínez, Vicedirectora de Primaria y Coordinadora PYP, quien les contó a los estudiantes en qué consiste la Exhibition y cómo será el recorrido que realizarán durante los próximos meses hasta llegar a la presentación final de sus proyectos.
Esta semana, además, tuvimos el honor de recibir a Delfina García Hamilton, mamá de la camada y Coordinadora del Programa Mujeres, Paz y Seguridad de Naciones Unidas. Delfina compartió con los alumnos la historia de la creación de la ONU y los fundamentos que dieron origen a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible.
Como los ODS serán el punto de partida de las indagaciones que los estudiantes desarrollarán durante su Exhibition, esta visita aportó información valiosa e inspiración para comenzar a explorar problemáticas relevantes tanto a nivel local como global.
Estamos muy entusiasmados por acompañarlos en este proceso de investigación, reflexión y acción que recién comienza.
