A visit from Jardin San Francisco
Year 4 students had the pleasure of welcoming the children from San Francisco Kindergarten (4-year-old class) for a special reading and sharing experience.
In preparation for the visit, the Year 4 students carefully selected a book to read to their guests and spent time getting ready for this meaningful opportunity. On the day of the visit, both groups gathered together on the carpet to enjoy stories, conversations, and a wonderful time of connection through reading.
To conclude the activity, the Year 4 students had prepared a small booklet for each child, including blank pages where they could draw their favourite part of the story and take it home as a keepsake. This thoughtful gift helped extend the joy of reading beyond the visit itself.
The morning continued with some shared playtime in the playground, where the children enjoyed interacting, making new connections, and having fun together outdoors.
It was a rich and rewarding experience for everyone involved. The visit fostered a love of reading, encouraged empathy and responsibility, and provided valuable opportunities for students of different ages to learn from one another. Seeing all the children engaged, happy, and excited throughout the day made this a truly memorable experience.
Los alumnos de Year 4 tuvieron la alegría de recibir la visita de los niños de Sala de 4 del Jardín San Francisco para compartir una enriquecedora experiencia de lectura y encuentro.
Durante las semanas previas, los estudiantes de Year 4 seleccionaron cuidadosamente un libro pensando en sus invitados y se prepararon para leerlo en voz alta. El día de la visita, ambos grupos compartieron un momento muy especial sentados juntos en la alfombra, disfrutando de historias, conversaciones y sonrisas.
Como cierre de la actividad, los alumnos de Year 4 prepararon un pequeño libro de regalo con hojas para que cada niño pudiera dibujar su parte favorita del cuento y llevarse un recuerdo de la experiencia. Este gesto permitió extender la magia de la lectura más allá del encuentro.
La jornada continuó con un tiempo de juego compartido en el patio, donde grandes y pequeños tuvieron la oportunidad de interactuar libremente, conocerse mejor y disfrutar juntos.
Fue un momento muy valioso de intercambio, en el que se fortalecieron vínculos, se promovió el gusto por la lectura y se desarrollaron habilidades de empatía, cuidado y responsabilidad. Ver a los niños tan entusiasmados, felices y comprometidos hizo de esta visita una experiencia significativa que seguramente recordarán con cariño.
