Rice University at Northlands

We had the privilege of welcoming Yvonne Romero, Vice President for Enrollment, Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Rice University, to Northlands School.. Rice is a very prestigious university in the United States, offering exceptional programmes in Architecture, Business, Engineering & Computing, Humanities, Music, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences.

Yvonne met with our Year 11 students who are exploring international pathways and considering the United States as an option. The session was highly informative, she shared the advantages of the IB Diploma, Rice’s culture of care, academic offerings, financial aid, the application process and inspiring student stories. Following the presentation, she held individual interviews with two of our Year 12 students who are applying to Rice, along with three additional candidates from other schools. These meetings provided personalised guidance, helping students understand how and when to apply based on their personal profiles.

We deeply value Yvonne’s time and her genuine commitment to empowering students, and we are incredibly grateful for her visit and her continued support.

Rice es una universidad de gran prestigio en Estados Unidos, que ofrece programas excepcionales en Arquitectura, Negocios, Ingeniería y Computación, Humanidades, Música, Ciencias Naturales y Ciencias Sociales.

Yvonne se reunió con nuestros estudiantes de Year 11 que exploran itinerarios internacionales y consideran a Estados Unidos como opción. La sesión fue sumamente informativa: compartió las ventajas del Diploma IB, la “culture of care” de Rice, su oferta académica, la ayuda financiera, el proceso de admisión y testimonios inspiradores de estudiantes. Tras la presentación, realizó entrevistas individuales con dos estudiantes de Year 12 que están postulándose a Rice, además de otros tres candidatos de otras escuelas. Estos encuentros brindaron una orientación personalizada, ayudándoles a comprender cómo y cuándo postularse según sus perfiles.
