Congratulations Josefina Oliverio! Literary Contest on Performative Poetry
On October 6, St. Andrew’s Scots School held the first edition of the Literary Contest on Performative Poetry, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the ship Symmetry and the first Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between Argentina and Great Britain. The event highlighted cultural exchange and a passion for literature.
With the theme “Transformations,” students and teachers from schools in the City and Province of Buenos Aires presented poems in various categories—Junior, Senior, and Adults—in formats such as traditional poetry, song lyrics, slam poetry, and rap, in both English and Spanish. The winners were recognized at the Performative Poetry Fest, where the first-prize recipients recited, sang, or performed their pieces before the audience.
We congratulate Josefina Oliverio for her outstanding participation and for winning first prize in the Adults category. Her poem, titled Crecer (To Grow), captivated the jury with its originality and depth. Thank you for inspiring us with your talent!

El pasado 6 de octubre, St. Andrew’s Scots School celebró la primera edición del Literary Contest on Performative Poetry, en conmemoración de los 200 años de la llegada del barco Symmetry y del primer Tratado de amistad, comercio y navegación entre Argentina y Gran Bretaña. Este evento destacó el intercambio cultural y la pasión por la literatura.
Con la temática “Transformaciones”, estudiantes y docentes de colegios de la Ciudad y Provincia de Buenos Aires presentaron poemas en diversas categorías: Junior, Senior y Adults, en formatos como poesía tradicional, letras de canciones, slam poetry y rap, en inglés y español. Los ganadores fueron reconocidos en el Performative Poetry Fest, donde los primeros premios recitaron, cantaron o interpretaron sus obras frente a la audiencia.
Felicitamos a Josefina Oliverio por su destacada participación y por obtener el primer premio en la categoría Adults. Su poema, titulado Crecer, cautivó al jurado por su originalidad y profundidad. ¡Gracias por inspirarnos con tu talento!
