9th of July National Celebration - Celebrating Argentina’s Independence with Y3

This Thursday, Year 3 Olivos students moved us with a very special assembly to commemorate Argentina’s Independence Day.
Over the past weeks, the children inquired into this important moment in our country’s history: its causes and consequences, life during colonial times, and the process that led to the Declaration of Independence on July 9th, 1816.
Through informational videos, interviews with members of our community, historical actings, traditional dances, and a touching final performance of the song “El país de la libertad”, they shared their learning and invited us to reflect on the meaning of this date.
It was a truly heartfelt and meaningful moment, one that connected us to our roots and to the shared history that unites us as a nation: a country built on diversity and sustained by core values such as freedom, independence, and unity.
Thank you, Y3, for reminding us, through such commitment and enthusiasm, of the importance of looking to the past in order to build a more just and caring future.

Este jueves, los estudiantes de Year 3 Olivos nos emocionaron con un acto muy especial para conmemorar el Día de la Independencia Argentina.
Durante las últimas semanas, los chicos y chicas indagaron sobre este trascendental suceso de nuestra historia: sus causas y consecuencias, la vida en la época colonial y el proceso que condujo a la Declaración de la Independencia el 9 de julio de 1816.
A través de videos expositivos, entrevistas a miembros de nuestra comunidad, representaciones históricas, bailes típicos y una conmovedora interpretación final de la canción “El país de la libertad”, compartieron sus aprendizajes y nos invitaron a reflexionar sobre significado de esta fecha.
Fue un momento lleno de emoción y sentido, que nos conectó con nuestras raíces y con la historia compartida que nos une como nación. Una patria construida desde la diversidad, pero sostenida por ideales fundamentales como la libertad, la independencia y la unión.
¡Gracias Y3 por recordarnos, con tanto compromiso y entusiasmo, la importancia de mirar al pasado para construir un futuro más justo y solidario!
