On Friday, 11th April, we took part in a school swimming tournament organised by the school Jesús en el Huerto de los Olivos. Students from Years 7 to 12 participated, representing various institutions such as St. Andrew’s School, Champagnat, Northlands, and the host school.
The tournament was divided into three categories: minors, cadets, and juniors. Sprint events were held over distances of 25 and 50 metres, in the following strokes: freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke.
Throughout the day, there was a strong atmosphere of enthusiasm, respect, and camaraderie among the swimmers from all four schools. Our representatives showed great commitment, effort, and team spirit, which was clearly reflected in the excellent results achieved.
As a result, we can say it was an extremely enriching experience, both in sporting and personal terms.
These kinds of events not only promote the development of technical skills, but also reinforce essential values such as respect, perseverance, and teamwork.
