Year 11 ESS Students Record Atmospheric Data Outdoors
Today, September 26, Year 11 ESS class took their learning outdoors for a hands-on investigation of the atmosphere. Armed with scientific tools and plenty of enthusiasm, the students worked as a team to record atmospheric parameters.
The activity was designed to be both fun and interactive, giving students the chance to step into the role of real environmental scientists. They discussed and tested different strategies to collect accurate data, then came to agreements on where and when to measure in order to ensure consistency across their results.
Beyond practicing data collection, students also strengthened their teamwork and problem-solving skills, learning first-hand how collaborative decisions are made in the field of science.
This outdoor investigation is just one step in their broader study of Environmental Systems and Societies and a great example of learning beyond the classroom walls!
Hoy, 26 de septiembre, la clase de Year 11 de ESS llevó su aprendizaje al aire libre en una investigación práctica sobre la atmósfera. Equipados con instrumentos científicos y mucho entusiasmo, los estudiantes trabajaron en equipo para registrar parámetros atmosféricos como la temperatura, la humedad y el viento.
La actividad fue diseñada para ser divertida e interactiva, ofreciendo a los estudiantes la oportunidad de ponerse en el papel de verdaderos científicos ambientales. Discutieron y pusieron a prueba diferentes estrategias para recopilar datos precisos, y luego acordaron dónde y cuándo medir, con el fin de asegurar la coherencia en sus resultados.
Más allá de practicar la toma de datos, los estudiantes también fortalecieron sus habilidades de trabajo en equipo y resolución de problemas, aprendiendo de primera mano cómo se toman decisiones colaborativas en el campo de la ciencia.
Esta investigación al aire libre es solo un paso dentro de su estudio más amplio de los Sistemas Anbientales y Sociedades ¡y un gran ejemplo de aprendizaje más allá de las paredes del aula!
