We are REFLECTIVE! – First Student Council Meeting 2025
The Student Council is a long-standing initiative at Northlands that encourages students to take an active role in school life by developing their sense of responsibility, leadership, and participation.
Each year, students from Year 3 and EP2 who are interested in becoming leaders prepare a speech to share with their classmates. After all the speeches, a class vote is held to choose the Class Representative.
On Friday, April 22, we held our first Student Council meeting. The members introduced themselves and received their first task: to create a Speak Up Box for their class. This box will allow students to share any concerns if they feel someone is being treated unfairly.
This project offers opportunities for reflection, collaboration across age groups, and the development of student voice and responsibility.
We congratulate all the students who participated and welcome our new Class Representatives.
El Student Council es una iniciativa con larga trayectoria en las primarias de Northlands que promueve que los estudiantes asuman un rol activo en la vida escolar, desarrollando el sentido de la responsabilidad, el liderazgo y la participación.
Cada año, los estudiantes de Year 3 y EP2 que desean convertirse en líderes preparan un discurso para compartir con sus compañeros. Luego de todas las presentaciones, se realiza una votación para elegir al Representante de Clase.
El viernes 22 de abril realizamos nuestro primer Student Council Meeting del año. Los nuevos miembros se presentaron y recibieron su primera misión: crear una “Speak Up Box” para su clase. Esta caja servirá para que los estudiantes puedan expresar preocupaciones si sienten que alguien está siendo tratado injustamente.
Este proyecto ofrece oportunidades para reflexionar, colaborar entre edades y fortalecer la voz y la responsabilidad estudiantil.
