Outdoor Education: Y5 Travel Back in Time to the Colonial Times
Y5 students went on an educational field trip to the Pueyrredón Museum. During the visit, they were able to deepen their understanding of the content studied throughout the year about the process of nation-building in Argentina. Walking through the historic house allowed them to step back into colonial times, better understand the revolutionary process that led to independence, and reflect on the early steps in the formation of our country.
Throughout the visit, the guides shared facts and anecdotes that helped reconstruct the social, political, and cultural context of the time. The students observed architectural details of the house, original objects, and settings that directly connect to what they learned in class.
The experience also tied in beautifully with their reading of the book “Los músicos del 8.” Students were able to link fiction with real history, recognizing spaces, customs, and events of the era, as well as the fundamental role of General San Martín and the Crossing of the Andes.
It was a meaningful day of learning, where history, literature, and real-world experience came together to enrich the students’ understanding of our past.
