Moving Stories in Year 9: Stop motion
In this interdisciplinary project, the subjects English and Design & Technology came together to bring a creative proposal to life — one that combined literature, animation, and teamwork.
Inspired by the classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, students recreated different scenes using stop motion techniques such as digital animation, exploring movement through flat figures (drawings on paper), and Claymation (modeling with clay), creating expressive three-dimensional characters and settings.
Each group selected a scene from the book, wrote scripts, built their own sets, chose the music, and narrated each part of the story in English.
The result was a collection of short films filled with imagination, creativity, and artistic sensitivity, showing how art and technology can come together to tell stories in entirely new ways.

En este proyecto interdisciplinario, las materias English junto a Diseño y Tecnología se unieron para dar vida a una propuesta creativa que combinó literatura, animación y trabajo en equipo.
Inspirados en la clásica novela To Kill a Mockingbird de Harper Lee, los estudiantes recrearon diferentes escenas utilizando técnicas de stop motion como animación digital, explorando el movimiento a partir de figuras planas (dibujo en el papel) y Claymation (modelado con plastilina), creando personajes y escenarios tridimensionales.
Los grupos eligieron una escena del libro, diseñaron guiones, construyeron sus propios escenarios, eligieron la música y narraron en inglés cada fragmento de la historia.
El resultado fue una serie de cortos llenos de imaginación, creatividad y sensibilidad artística, que demostraron cómo el arte y la tecnología pueden encontrarse para contar historias de una manera completamente nueva.
