Exploring the Musculoskeletal System

During the UOI “The Human Body”, Y3 students investigated the musculoskeletal system, discovering its main components and the role each one plays in our body.
As part of this inquiry, they visited the science lab, where they built an articulated hand using simple materials. Through this experience, they learned how the hand moves and the role of muscles, bones, and tendons in that process. They used straws to represent bones, paper to form the hand, and strings to simulate tendons. By pulling the strings, the fingers moved, mimicking the function of a real hand.
This activity was a great opportunity to learn science while using their imagination and manual skills.

Durante la UOI “El Cuerpo Humano”, los alumnos de Y3 investigaron el sistema osteomuscular, descubriendo cuáles son sus principales componentes y la función que cumple cada uno en nuestro cuerpo. Como parte de esta indagación, visitaron el laboratorio de ciencias, donde construyeron una mano articulada utilizando materiales simples. A través de esta experiencia, comprendieron cómo se mueve la mano y cuál es el papel de los músculos, huesos y tendones en ese proceso. Usaron pajitas como si fueran huesos, papel para formar la mano e hilos que simulaban los tendones. Al tirar de los hilos, los dedos se movían, imitando el funcionamiento de una mano real. Esta actividad fue una oportunidad para aprender ciencia, poniendo en juego su imaginación y habilidades manuales.
