❤️ A special visit in Y4! ❤️

This week, Carlos, Gabriel Ramos Herrera’s dad, came to school to share a fascinating presentation about the Aztecs. He prepared an engaging talk, crafted typical Aztec weapons out of cardboard, organized a fun guessing game about their food, and even brought Aztec gold (chocolate!) for everyone to enjoy.
While he spoke, we listened to tribal music in the background and learned lots of interesting facts about Aztec culture. In the end, we discovered something truly meaningful: traces of Aztec culture are still alive in Mexico today: in their language, traditional dishes, and famous celebrations such as Día de los Muertos.
Now we understand why our new Unit of Inquiry is called “We Owe It to Them.”

Esta semana, Carlos, el papá de Gabriel Ramos Herrera, vino al colegio para compartir una presentación fascinante sobre los aztecas. Preparó una charla muy interesante, fabricó armas típicas aztecas con cartón, organizó un juego divertido de adivinanzas sobre su comida ¡y hasta trajo oro azteca (¡chocolate!) para compartir con todos!
Mientras hablaba, escuchamos música tribal de fondo y aprendimos muchísimos datos curiosos sobre la cultura azteca. Al final, descubrimos algo muy importante: todavía hoy hay huellas de la cultura azteca presentes en México: en su idioma, en sus platos tradicionales y en celebraciones tan famosas como el Día de los Muertos.
Ahora entendemos por qué nuestra nueva Unidad de Indagación se llama “Apreciamos su legado.”
