Interdisciplinary Project: Music + Design & Technology
As part of an interdisciplinary approach, students participated in a joint project between Music and Design & Technology, exploring how art and creativity are enhanced when combined with technological thinking.
Throughout the project, students:
Learned about different types of bands and various musical instruments.
Chose, in teams, what type of band they wanted to create.
Designed and built their own musical instruments, combining research, creativity, and hands-on skills.
Programmed those instruments so they could play five different notes, integrating concepts of coding and sound.
Finally, composed their own songs using the instruments they created.
This experience allowed students to go through the entire process: from musical understanding to design, construction, programming, and performance. A true STEAM journey where learning was active, playful, and collaborative.
Congratulations to all the teams for their enthusiasm, dedication, and creativity!
