🌱From Ideas to Roots: Our Protected Area Project

As part of the “Sharing the Planet” unit of inquiry and as a culmination of their primary school journey, the Year 6 students carried out their PYP Exhibition by creating a protected area within the school grounds. They designed the space, planned its implementation, and presented their ideas to the school leadership, explaining where to locate it and which native plants to include. With the guidance of Agustín, the park ranger, and their mentors, they planted each species with their own hands, leaving a meaningful mark of their commitment to caring for the environment.

En el marco de la unidad de indagación “Sharing the Planet” y como cierre de su paso por la primaria, los alumnos de Year 6 llevaron adelante su PYP Exhibition, creando un área protegida dentro del colegio. Diseñaron el espacio, planificaron su implementación y presentaron sus propuestas a los directivos, explicando dónde ubicarla y qué especies nativas incluir. Con el acompañamiento de Agustín, el guardaparques, y de sus mentores, plantaron cada especie con sus propias manos, dejando una huella significativa de su compromiso con el cuidado del medioambiente.
