“The legend as an oral tradition: concept of version” - Y3 Nordelta

As part of Unit 4 “How We Express Ourselves”, the Year 3 students carried out an inquiry into the diversity of voices, perspectives, and expressions. Throughout the process, they explored how inspiration, imagination, and creativity are reflected in different productions. They also analyzed personal, social, and cultural modes and practices of communication, reflecting on the intentions, perceptions, interpretations, and responses that arise in different contexts.

One of the lines of inquiry during this period was “The legend as an oral tradition: concept of version”. In this context, the students read the legend of yerba mate and reflected on its cultural value and meaning. To conclude the unit, they experienced sharing mate cocido and eating chipás, recreating practices of the communities they studied and reflecting on the sense of togetherness that emerges from sharing this beverage.

En el marco de la Unidad 4 “Cómo nos expresamos”, los alumnos de Year 3 realizaron una indagación acerca de la diversidad de voces, perspectivas y expresiones. A lo largo del proceso exploraron cómo la inspiración, la imaginación y la creatividad se hacen presentes en distintas producciones. Asimismo, analizaron los modos y prácticas de comunicación personales, sociales y culturales, reflexionando sobre las intenciones, percepciones, interpretaciones y respuestas que surgen en los diferentes contextos.

Una de las líneas de indagación de este período fue “La leyenda como relato de transmisión oral”. En este marco, los estudiantes leyeron la leyenda de la yerba mate y reflexionaron acerca de su valor y significado cultural. Como cierre de la unidad, vivenciaron la experiencia de compartir mate cocido y comer chipás, recreando prácticas propias de los pueblos que estudiaron y reflexionando sobre el sentido comunitario que genera compartir esta bebida.
